This weekend (September 14 and 15) the third round of the season of the GR Cup Spain, the single-brand cup organized by Toyota Spain and Motor & Sport Institute (MSi), is held at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste. Once again, this meeting is part of the complete program that Racing Weekend offers for fans.
On this occasion, there will be 13 teams registered and 14 drivers who will start, all at the wheel of the Toyota GR86 Circuit Pack. The regular drivers of the championship are joined by Daniel Ron, Jesús Moreno and Mario Herraiz, motor influencer and ambassador of Toyota Spain. Mario and Jesús will share a car, each of them competing in one of the two races that make up the program.
The action on the track will begin on Friday, with the celebration of the collective tests, where the drivers will have the opportunity to test and adapt the set-up of the Toyota GR86 Circuit Pack to the Valencian track, with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder, 234 naturally aspirated engine. CV.
The action of the GR Cup Spain will begin on Saturday in Cheste, with free practice, timed practice and the first race of the weekend. On Sunday, timed practice 2 and the second race will take place, which will conclude this third event of the season.
Marcos de Diego is the current leader of the contest, with 82 points, followed by Antonio Albacete, with 68 points. Behind them, Ignacio Rodríguez and José Antonio Chico are tied for third place, with 58 points. Once again, the equality between the participants will offer a great show on the track.
