The RallyRACC is based in Salou, is held on gravel stages and has 99.88 timed kilometers, divided into two sections.
The Rallye de Catalunya will be the eighth scoring event of the season within the S-CER (Spanish Rally Superchampionship). The rally held in Salou and run on gravel is the second to last event of both championships.
One more time, and after having been on the podium in all the rallies of the season (two victories), Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada will seek a new win for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Spain team and Teo Martín Motorsport.
The Toyota duo is very confident after the good feelings they had with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 in Lorca, the only event so far run on gravel. It was the first event of the S-CER 2024 and Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada took second place in the GR Yaris Rally2's debut in Spain.
Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada are the leaders of the S-CER, which gives them an advantage over their main rivals, Diego Ruiloba and José Antonio Suárez. In addition, the Asturian driver has been very happy with the results obtained in the previous test carried out by the team in preparation for the RallyRACC, where they could prepare the car to adapt to the stages of this legendary event.
The RallyRACC will start on Friday afternoon. After the shakedown and the qualifying stage, the first stage will take place, a show test in Salou (1.55 km). On Saturday, the drivers will face the decisive stage, with the remaining 98 timed kilometers, divided into seven sections. The longest special stage is La Pobla de Massaluca - Vilalba dels Arcs, with 23.28 km, which will be twice repeated.
Alejandro Cachón (DRIVER): “We are very happy with the two days of tests we did before the rally, where we could test different configurations for the RallyRACC, given that we hadn't tested the car on gravel since the Lorca Rally. They have been crucial kilometers to adapt again to this surface”.
Borja Rozada (CO-DRIVER): “The test days were fundamental, as we needed to recuperate the sensations that the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 transmits on gravel, as the Lorca Rally was the first one of the season. I hope that the car's evolutions during the year will bear fruit in the ever classic and challenging RallyRACC”.
